So, I did something a little crazy, but mostly a little awesome…

I got a dog.

Molly and I always joke that we should do an ongoing feature called, “Spontaneity with Hadley.”  I make broad statements, for example, “I think I’m going to move to New York with no job and no where to live,” or, on a much smaller scale,  ”I think I am going to get a tattoo.”  It takes less than 2 seconds to make the actual decision, and from then on, I am committed.  Anyway, that is how I was about Beatrix, Bea for short.  I just decided, “Yep, today is the day.”  So, I got a dog after work.

It was only after the two of us fell in love at first sight that I learned my very own Bea is famous.  She as on Good Morning America with Rachel Ray last week to launch of ASPCA’s 100K Challenge.  Apparently, Bea and Rachel had a real moment, because then she tweeted a pictures of them hanging out backstage.  (Rachel, Bea’s handle isn’t set up yet, she was moving last night.  Obviously.)

It’s fine, she slept under the covers with me last night.  We spooned.  Don’t worry, you can baby sit her whenever you want.  She’ll smell you and then try and lick your face off.  From what I understand, that means, “I love you and thanks for adopting me.” It could also mean, “You need to take more showers because your face tastes like salt.”  Hey, whatever.
